Questions submitted by JPC Members |
Question from Councillor Sean McDermott: At the JPC Meeting in March 2021, I raised the issue of the availability of a cell at the Garda Station in Manorhamilton. Is there any update? |
Question from Councillor Sean McDermott: Is there a possibility in the coming months of an armed unit or armed detectives not being available for duty during the hours of 4am and 8am. As Leitrim is a border county, I believe it is important that these Officers are available during these times. |
Question from Councillor Justin Warnock: I ask this Joint Policing Committee if a visit / factfinding trip for members could be arranged in the coming months to go to see Mountjoy prison. |
Question from Councillor Justin Warnock Kinlough continues to see the fastest natural growth in population of any town or village in Leitrim, with 1200 people living in the village today. I ask the Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken can he give this community an assurance that a normalisation of Garda services in our Garda station and policing in this area will be delivered in the coming months.

Question from Councillor Finola Armstrong McGuire What measures have been taken in policing the speed and noise of “Boy Racers” on our roads at night. Particularly, I ask re the area of Cortober / Carrick and where we see evidence of speed and erratic driving evident on roads further from the town.
