To consider date, time and venue for Annual Meeting 2020.

Minutes:

Cllr Enda McGloin, Cathaoirleach said it was proposed to hold the Annual Meeting of Leitrim County Council on Friday, 26th June 2020 at 12 noon in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

 

 

Proposed by Councillor Enda McGloin seconded by Councillor Mary Bohan AND UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED;

 

“That the Annual Meeting of Leitrim County Council be held on Friday, 26th June 2020 at 12 noon in  the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim.

To consider date, time and venue for July Meeting of Leitrim County Council.

Minutes:

Cllr Enda McGloin, Cathaoirleach said it is proposed to bring forward the July Council meeting to Friday, 26th June 2020 at 1.30 pm in the Ballroom of the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

 

 

Proposed by Councillor Enda McGloin seconded by Councillor Des Guckian   AND UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED;

 

 

“That the July Council meeting of Leitrim County Council be held on Friday, 26th June 2020 at 1.30 pm in the Ballroom of the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon”.

Minutes:

Councillor Des Guckian said he hoped  decency and equality would apply in relation to the election of the Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach.

 

Councillor Enda McGloin, Cathaoirleach noted Cllr Guckian’s comments.

 

Councillor Paddy O’Rourke sought an update in relation to a water ban coming into force due to the current dry weather conditions that is being experienced and he noted that Group Water Schemes are rationing their water supplies.

 

Mr Lar Power, Chief Executive said this is currently an issue nationally and water restrictions may be introduced by Irish Water if this period of dry weather continues. 

 

Councillor Mary Bohan enquired if the Community Wardens have resumed work following the recent easing of COVID 19 restrictions, as the issue of litter dumping is getting worse.

 

Mr Lar Power, Chief Executive said all incidents of litter pollution should be brought to the attention of Mr Vincent Dwyer, Head of Finance, Water, Environment, Climate Action and Emergency Services.

 

Councillor Gerry Dolan said when litter offenders are caught they should be named and shamed.

 

Councillor Enda McGloin said  is may be necessary to bring in bye laws in order to deal with this issue.
