Motion from Councillor Enda McGloin - Tourism Plan
I ask that Leitrim Co Council consider a
Tourism Plan for our County (post Covid 19) from May to October
2021 to include all stakeholders including representative
organisations, festival committees alongside hotels and restaurants
to ensure we capitalise on the anticipated reduction in Covid
restrictions at that time & hopefully the opening of our local
economy.

To consider the following Notice of Motion submitted by Councillor Enda McGloin;
"I ask that Leitrim Co Council consider a Tourism Plan for our County (post Covid 19) from May to October 2021 to include all stakeholders including representative organisations, festival committees alongside hotels and restaurants to ensure we capitalise on the anticipated reduction in Covid restrictions at that time & hopefully the opening of our local economy."
Report by Director of Services for Economic Development, Planning, Environment and Transportation.
"The annual tourism plan will be prepared in January to include all marketing activity for 2021. The Council working with relevant partners will be delivering significant marketing programmes in 2021 when appropriate. Consultations with representatives from the various sectors will be carried out, possibly through a subgroup, in the preparation of these specific programmes. We will continue to work with Fáilte Ireland and the various agencies in supporting the tourism trade providers to reopen and recover in 2021."
Councillor Enda McGloin welcomed the reply received. Councillor Enda Stenson supported the motion.
